Welcome

WELCOME to the website of Yale’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) Senate. The 25 member-elected body represents faculty from all ranks and divisions within the FAS and SEAS, and is a key structure in supporting faculty self-governance. 2015-2016 was the FAS Senate’s inaugural year as the chief representative and voice for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In July 2022, the School of Engineering and Applied Science was added to the title, coinciding with SEAS becoming an independent administrative entity.

MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is to preserve, advance, and transmit knowledge through inspiring research, teaching, and art.
